Exchange Migration
The Exchange Migration is on schedule. Over 750 people have been migrated to the new system and hundreds are being migrated each week. We continue the rollout on a department by department basis. Though you will be contacted before your department is migrated, feel free to look at the Schedule link to find out when your department is expected to be migrated. Again, this is just to provide you with the timing. Before the migration, you will receive an email reminding you of the migration date providing information on what to do before the migration as well as what to expect afterwards
Exchange includes automatic Archive and Retention and ITAC approved the Archive and Retention Standard on July 15th. Please look at the Archive and Retention tab for more information. We continue to make modifications where possible based on users' requests. Of course, those of you already migrated will notice the changes; those migrated afterwards will just benefit from the changes as soon as they are moved. There are two changes being made very soon
- The GAL (Global Address List) which is the Exchange terminology for the addressbook will be changed on July 27th to that it follows the format we expect in an addressbook. Names will now appear as Last Name, First Name MI.
- You will soon see new folders in your Mailbox. There will be a folder named Managed Folders which will contain several other folders - Permanent, 10 years, 5 years, 3 years and 2 years. These are provided to help you meet the retention needs. Remember to familiarize yourself with the information provided under Archive and Retention so that you can properly use these folders.
