Google mail is now available. Students can begin to switch to the new system at monarchs.odu.edu

Student email will be moving to Google starting October 9, 2008.

The decision was made mid-June, but we are still working on the contract. Once the contract is signed, we can make the announcement and proceed with the rollout.

The committee, which has student, faculty, Distance Learning and OCCS representatives, has reviewed the responses from Microsoft and Google. Both companies have presented a demo of their products and are now providing test accounts to the committee members. A decision is expected mid-June.

There were no qualified responses to the RFP. We are now working directly with the vendors to determine which system to implement for outsourced student email.

An RFP has been put out so that companies can bid on providing outsourced email to ODU students. More information will be available at a later time.
