About OCCS
The Office of Computing and Communications Services' (OCCS) mission is to provide high-quality cost-effective computing and communications services that meet the needs of the University community.
OCCS fosters and supports excellence, innovation, best practices and effective communication in the use of computing and communications technologies in teaching, learning, research and administrative endeavors across the University.
IT Strategic Plan
The Old Dominion University Information Technology Strategic Plan outlines how OCCS will contribute to the University's Strategic Plan. The components of the plan have been updated for 2008-09.
Advisory Committees
Advisory committees are a valuable part of any IT organization. Currently there are four advisory groups that counsel and guide OCCS on strategies and decisions on information technologies.
Information Technology Advisory Council (ITAC)
Provides leadership, advice and guidance on information technology policies, strategies, issues, and directions and from a University perspective.
Administration Systems Oversight Group (ASOG)
Advises OCCS on the application of information technologies relative to Banner ® Unified Digital Campus, the SunGard information technology system.
Classroom Central Advisory Committee (CCAC)
Advises OCCS on the application of information technologies relative to the University's technology classrooms.
Imaging Systems Oversight Group (ISOG)
Advises OCCS on the application of information technologies relative to day to day management issues of electronic imaging and associated user support.
ResNet Advisory Committee (RAC)
Advises OCCS on the application of information technologies relative to services provided through the Residential Network.
