PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Old Dominion University strongly recommends that all incoming freshmen have a notebook computer that meets or exceeds the University's minimum technical requirements. While students are strongly encouraged to purchase one of the Mobile Monarch recommended notebooks, students may bring a non-program notebook to campus.
Non-program Notebooks
Students who are considering using a non-program notebook should be aware of the following important points:
- Students who do not purchase a Mobile Monarch Student Notebook must still bring a device which meets or exceeds the hardware specifications.
- Students are also required to purchase and install the required software listed with the minimum hardware specifications.
- Non-program notebooks are not eligible for hardware support in the OCCS Technical Support Center (TSC).
- Students who do not purchase a Mobile Monarch Student Notebook are not eligible for loaner notebooks when their non-program notebook is being repaired.
- The software support available for clients without program notebooks is very limited. TSC Support Staff will not reload operating system, software, and/or student data files on non-program notebooks.
